App DesignDesign System

Overview

A social platform where watch enthusiasts share reviews, photos, and news about their timepieces. We designed the apps and built a unified design system across iOS, Android, and the web.

Think Twitter, but built around horology. WatchCrunch brings together a global community of collectors and hobbyists who share a passion for watches, from vintage classics to the latest releases.

Designing for a niche enthusiast audience raises the stakes considerably. Watch collectors have a refined eye and high expectations, which means a generic or careless UI gets noticed immediately. Every visual decision, from the typographic choices to the way photos are framed and displayed, needed to feel considered and appropriate for the community it was serving.

We designed the iOS and Android apps from scratch, creating a UI that feels native to each platform while staying true to the aesthetic sensibilities of the watch community. The result is a clean, fast, and visually rich experience that lets the watches do the talking.

To keep things consistent across iOS, Android, and the web, we built a dedicated design system: a shared library of colours, typography, icons, and components (buttons, input fields, navigation bars) that serves as the single source of truth for every interface. This not only makes the product look cohesive, it makes iterating and scaling much faster for the in-house development team.

We continue to work with WatchCrunch as the product evolves, collaborating closely with their developers to bring new features to life.
