Overview

QR menus and digital guides for catering and hospitality businesses. We built a design system that brought visual consistency across Wifi Catalogue's entire product.

Wifi Catalogue helps restaurants and accommodation businesses go contactless, giving their customers clean, scannable QR menus and guides instead of laminated cards and printed booklets.

When we came on board, the product worked well but lacked a cohesive visual language. Our job was to build a design system that unified everything: colour, typography, iconography, and layout, applied consistently across all components and interactions.

One added complexity was that Wifi Catalogue serves two quite different business types, catering and accommodation, each with its own content structure, user flows, and operational needs. The design system had to be flexible enough to accommodate both without producing a product that felt split down the middle. Getting that balance right required careful thinking about where the two use cases could share components and where they genuinely needed to diverge.

Rather than starting from scratch, we worked through the existing codebase component by component, identifying where the design could be tightened without derailing the development roadmap. Everything was validated with the engineering team before it went anywhere near production, which kept the project on track and the scope in check.

The result is a product that looks and feels like a single, considered thing. Easier to use, easier to extend, and a lot easier to hand off between teams.
